This weekend I celebrated a dear friend’s birthday. Nothing quite says ‘festive celebration’ to me as much as cupcakes! I love matching the cupcake flavors, wrapper, and frosting colors dependent on the season or holiday we’re currently in. On this joyous occasion I had the pleasure of bringing the dessert to her birthday dinner and got to make birthday cupcakes! My friend is timeless, sweet, classy and young at heart so I wanted the cupcakes to reflect precisely that…
After frosting, I sprinkled a little bit of coconut shaving on the top of the frosting for garnish.
I like to give baked goods in these little brown craft paper boxes. They have a little peep hole on the top of the box and end up looking like treats from a bakery.
12 polka dot candles and the most charming box of matches I’ve ever come across.
Make a wish! Happy Birthday Karen!
I love to bake cupcakes! Period. But especially on birthdays. They seem to capture the joy of birthday cake in your own individual packaging. I also appreciate how cutting the cake, plates and forks are not necessarily needed in the case of cupcakes.
What dessert do you prefer for your birthday? Traditional cake or something different?
