I am so thrilled to announce that we officially booked our honeymoon! Woo woo! We are lucky enough to be spending two and a half weeks in France and Italy, and could not be more excited. We opted to do a honeymoon registry through this cool site. Have you heard of a honeymoon registry? I hadn’t until a couple years ago. Instead of registering for pots and pans, you register for breakfast in bed and bike rides through the Italian countryside, say what?!
So I want to ask you guys a HUGE favor – if you have been to either Paris (swoon), Tuscany, Florence, or Rome, will you please give us your recommendations? Guide books are great, but I swear the best way to travel is off the suggestions of your friends. My fiance and I are fairly (extremely) food obsessed, so restaurants is a huge one! Also, certain sites, museums, parks, churches, bars, anything and everything would be amazing and so very appreciated!

I know suggestions can be tough sometimes – either you can’t remember specifics or you have too many to count – but perhaps you had one amazing meal or a favorite site. Think of the things that you would just have to do or see if you went back. We are so grateful for your help friends!
Love, Meg

I am so excited for this trip, it is going to be amazing. Can’t wait to eat everything in sight with my WIFE.
Li per Li. My favorite paninoteca in Firenze. It’s on Via San Zanobi and Via 27 de Aprile. Bambino likes it too!
That will be incredible! So jealous. I love the idea of the honeymoon registry. We didn’t do that but we took all the cash/checks we were given as gifts and spent it all while on ours. I think we only had to pay for 1-2 meals out of pocket. It was amazing!

Classy with a Kick
Oh my goodness that sounds so exciting! Congratulations!
In Rome, there is a hotel on top of a hill that is beautiful & 100% romantic. Anyone is welcome to go to the top floor and have a drink, listen to their piano player, and enjoy the gorgeous panoramic view of Rome while watching the sunset. I’ve been there both times I went to Rome and it is my favorite memory. Here is a link to the hotel, check out the photo gallery:

What perfect honeymoon destinations! I have been to both Rome and Florence several times and loved them for very different reasons. It’s been several years though, so I can’t even remember where I’ve stayed before!
I’ll be happy to give you our favorite Rome destinations. I’ll check our Rome map and get back to you. I am so happy that you are going there for your honeymoon!! Rome is one of my favorite places on earth!
We have never been to France, but it’s on our “Must Do” list!
Love,

So exciting! In Florence- the Boboli gardens are a fun and beautiful activity, and so is buying a bottle of wine (don’t forget a bottle opener!) and some salami and chees and sitting on one of the bridges at sunset. In Paris- the Tuleries garden is a great spot to enjoy a baguette sandwich for lunch and watch the locals. Also- go to Versailles- it is absolutely stunning. In Rome- everything, especially the Vatican. If I think of anything more i’ll let you know!
Meg, I went to Paris two years ago. I have to say that hands down, you NEED to go to Versailles. It is jaw dropping gorgeous. I highly recommend it.
There is a beautiful and DELICIOUS restaurant called Mario’s right behind the San Lorenzo market that is my absolute favorite. It is a tiny little space where you are seated at tables with complete strangers over an intimate dinner. I went there several times when studying abroad because I loved the way it tasted and I loved the communal feeling.
Also the Boboli gardens at the Pitti Palace are incredible.
In Paris you have to go to Montmarte because it is perfect and you will be obsessed. I also love the Latin Quarter and taking a riverboat cruise along the Seine was also amazing. My dad took me on a dinner cruise there and it will forever be one of my favorite memories!
I loved everything in Rome. It was one of my favorite places to take it all in. Just sit on the Spanish steps for an hour or two and watch life going by. It’s so fascinating.
I have so many more, I will keep them coming!!!
Wooops, the first two places I said (Mario’s and Boboli gardens) are in Florence!!! Sorry! Ha!
