I love how full of promise the New Year is, whether you’re into resolutions or not, the general population seems to want to better themselves and there is a collective optimism in the air. I for one am weary of “resolutions”; not to say you shouldn’t reach for the moon, so you’ll land upon the stars and all that jazz, but I feel that people put an awful lot of pressure on themselves right away and then are inevitably disheartened when they break said resolutions. I did write a small set of aspirations with my fiance for the next year, and for fun, I made a list of things to look forward to in 2013 – no stress, just adventures awaiting, big and small.
Take a cooking class. Make cinnamon rolls from scratch. Send cards, just because. Get better at winged eyeliner. Learn more about wine. Organize my closet, and keep it that way. Marry my best friend.
Anything you’ve been wanting to try? learn? see? I would love to know! It’s gonna be quite a year friends.

P.S. My yoga instructor said a great quote this morning, “The way you do anything is the way you do everything.” How are you gonna live your life? Let’s do it!

I think we need a wine date
These are some great resolutions Meg! I especially like that last one
Happy Friday!!!
re: eyeliner, have Allison set you up with Stephanie, and get her secrets! She is an eyeliner idol. I love this post, because this is the first year I have resolved to not start resolutions till February!! Brides-to-be, save those lists you and your fiance make, just stick them in a folder. Years from now, they will be so much fun to look through. My husband and I would write one every year; we added silly stuff, like best song, favorite movie, book, piece of clothing, best meal, etc. of the old year. It was a goof at the time, but now is a treasure!
Oh yeah! New thing to learn: my sister and I are going snowshoeing next week when we take a snow trip to June Lake.
I want to go paddleboarding.
