Last May my hair dresser moved to Florida. I’m sad to say I still have not replaced him. I’ve gone over eight months now without a haircut!
Growing up, I loathed haircuts. I’m not exactly sure as to why, but when my mom would tell me about an upcoming hair appointment, I’d pout all day about it. Sometimes, I’m ashamed to say, there were even tears of indignation involved. Without a designated hair dresser right now, I seem to have revisited this childish aversion to haircuts.
Meg keeps casually bringing it up, which in sister code means: you need a haircut as soon as possible. After seeing a recent picture of myself taken from behind, seeing the start of visible split-ends are enough to make me agree with her and want to find a new hair dresser–stat!
All my fellow San Diegans: where do you get your hair cut? I’m dyeing (a little hair related pun) for your recommendations!
It made me curious … all our readers near and far: How often do you get your hair cut?

Oh Ali! I wish we knew when you were here!!! Michelle is actually a fantastic hair stylist and does the hair for the ultra secret celebrities at Cirque Lodge during their stay! I know it would have just been a tide you over thing, but it at least would have been a high quality family discount one! Loves!!! XOXO
I absolutely LOVE getting my hair cut, but it’s probably because I have a deep hatred for split ends. They absolutely drive me insane!
I know Natale! I thought of that when she cut Lindsey’s hair but I felt guilty asking her after a long day and being 8 months pregnant! Next time I’d love to have my hair cut by her!

Allie! My mom and I get our hair cut by a lady who lives in Imperial Beach. She works out of her home, but she is absolutely fabulous! I’m the same as you — since I moved to Idaho, I didn’t want anyone doing my hair but her. I don’t have her number, but my mom does
OK- I have one answer for you and one answer only- you MUST go to Shelby, owner of “Canvas – A Hair Studio” in Pacific Beach. Not only is she fab at cutting hair. She is also a sweetheart!!!! And she gives insane neck massages when she washes your hair. I adore her! If you go to her, say I referred you! I think I’ve referred over 10 people, all of whom are now obsessed!!
